Word on the Street

I devoured her course because I couldn’t stop watching and learning, just like when you can’t put down a book because it is incredibly good.

Her Flat Lay Play course unleashed my creativity and encouraged me to create beautiful flat lays like Kimberly’s by applying all the tips and technique I learned with much confidence.

I found myself feeling like a light bulb had switched on above my head during the different modules.

I’m glad to say I saw a lot of improvement after taking in just 50-something percent of the course. I’m still improving day after day, trying to implement what I have learnt. I certainly do not regret spending what I spent one bit.

Not every client project involves true collaborati Not every client project involves true collaboration. However, I believe that the best outcomes are achieved when they do.Let’s take @thebesttodaybrand, for example. Shunta and I both came together with ideas at each stage of the process...from the overall vibe to the shot list. What’s more, we were both excited and responsive throughout the project period. There were built-in feedback loops. The result was a set of cohesive images that she can use across her website and social channels. (Swipe to see some of her images in action.) #kmpstyledFor me, that piece about excitement and responsiveness is key and one of the reasons I think it is important for photographers to be selective about the projects they accept. If you don’t have space on your calendar to fully devote to the project, it just isn’t a good fit, or you don’t have the skills (yet) to be able to execute the client’s vision, then refer it. Please. You won’t be at your best if you compromise on any of these points. What are your thoughts? Do you think a collaborative process results in better work?

To be fair, I don’t like any type of coffee. At first I thought it was about my general disdain for hot drinks, but then it also extends to coffee flavored ice cream. 🤷🏾‍♀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’ve been wanting to try a shot like this for a while, so I thought I’d experiment while I’m in this moody light phase. I used three pieces of black foam core to block (2) and absorb (1) the light. #kmpstyled

Do you put the edges of the puzzle together first Do you put the edges of the puzzle together first or go straight to the heart of the puzzle?I have to resist the urge to tell my daughter that the “right” way to put together a puzzle is to separate the straight pieces from the rest and then start with the border first. 😅 Every. Single. Time. I tell you...I practically have to bite the inside of my cheeks! #kiddingnotkidding She always wants to get right to the picture. On this #nationalpuzzleday, I had to share this @jiggypuzzles x @reynanoriega_ puzzle I put together. It was the perfect mix of challenging and relaxing. On a photography note, I love how an image can really come to life during post-processing (aka editing), don’t you?
